THE ARTISTS
BEN HERING
Ben Hering is a Wisconsin born, Minneapolis-based artist whose concepts utilize ancestral photos, religious iconography and mythological motifs as vehicles to examine identity. Through found materials, multi-media layering, sawing and sanding, Ben's latest work brings playfulness to heavy conversations. By marrying bright palettes with dilapidated wood, the warmth of nostalgia with the precariousness of rust, he explores the relationship between the natural, the spiritual and the human experience.

TCHANA PIERRE

Through his art, Pierre explores how feelings such as love, joy, anxiety, grief and lust manifest within us shaping our perceptions, behaviors and physical forms. ABOUT THE SHOW
The artists’ paths first intersected during the pandemic, forging a connection through shared artistic expression. Both are deeply interested in how art serves as a medium to materialize lived experiences. This pursuit of capturing the immaterial aspects of life reveals itself in their work through abstracted figures and rich textures—reminders of life’s fragility. Having been raised in Christian traditions, both artists recognize the power of storytelling as a tool for shaping collective understanding. Their work explores the intersection of the spiritual and the human experience, reflecting an ongoing fascination with art as a medium for translating the significance of the collective self. This shared pursuit ultimately led them to exhibit together.
A strong dialogue exists between their creative approaches—marked by immediacy and intimacy in organic forms, raw textures, and familiar patterns that evoke a universal sense of home. The work’s intentions and imperfections offer reassurance, inviting the viewer into an unfolding narrative that feels deeply familiar. Bringing together individually produced pieces that have yet to interact, this exhibition reflects their innate interconnectedness. It seeks to both define and dissolve the space between individuality through collective thought. To you, the viewer, the artists ask only for your presence—whole and unguarded. May these inanimate objects stir memories of the spaces you share with those you love. Let them serve as quiet reminders of the beauty and tenderness found in connection.
